First Week Back

Hey everyone it's been an awesome first week back! It has been good to see old friends from Barrio 20 and to start meeting the new people we are working with. It has been good to be all Spanish again. It is nice because I can see the improvements I have made in just 6 weeks since I have been out of this ward. I am a lot more confident in my Spanish now and I feel great being able to communicate with few difficulties.

We are teaching a women named Georgina here, who I had actually heard about while I was in this ward the first time. She is now ready for baptism! This last Sunday she was interviewed by President Hartpence, the new counselor in the mission presidency. He told us that she is extremely prepared and ready to take that first step onto the covenant path.

Another awesome thing that happened this week was going to the Spanish mission presidents devotional in Chula Vista, which is the stake that I first served in when I was in San Ysidro. I was able to perform in the missionary choir and hear some amazing testimonies from some recent converts, as well as a sister who is getting baptized in our ward THIS Sunday! Isn't that so cool? She is not even a member of the church yet, but she was willing and ready to bear testimony in the devotional.

One last thing I want to tell you guys about. Last night we went and ministered to a man that the Mormon Battalion sisters are teaching. They were busy at the battalion so they asked us to go see them. We went there and with no clue what to teach, and met him in his apartment complex. We said an opening prayer with him, and the spirit took over. Elder Yates, my new companion, and I taught very well together. We shared a series of scriptures tying prayer, the spirit, and the atonement of Jesus Christ all together in a message that he really needed. We finished by giving him a blessing of comfort. It was a very spiritual experience, and one that I will never forget.

I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Also, this picture is my companion and I with a 16 year old priest from Gilbert, Arizona. We got to take him out with us last Wednesday so he could experience a bit of the missionary life!

Back to San Diego!

Hey every body sorry my emails have been really short and boring!  But i'll be better!

So I have some exciting news, I have been transferred out of El Centro. I was not out in the valley for near as long as I expected. It is really hot out there, but I met a lot of cool people that I will miss. But, it's okay, because I have actually been transferred back to Barrio 20, where I just left from, but in a different area with a car. I'm super excited to be back in this ward. I love the people hear and I love the area.

Tomorrow I will have the opportunity to actually take out a young man who is here with a youth group from Arizona. We will get to show him what it's like being a missionary, although he probably doesn't speak Spanish, so that will be interesting.

I hope you have all been amazing! Let me know how you have been!

Love you guys!
