Hey everyone! It's been a crazy week! The missionary life definitely lives up to the hype. To start, my companion is Elder Smith. He's from South Carolina and we couldn't be more different. He grows on you though. He was called to be our district leader so our schedule is even tighter than most others. Everyday but Sunday and Wednesday is packed full. We have classes from 8:30 until around 9:00 at night with breaks for lunch and dinner. My morning classes are taught by Hermana Yescas. She doesn't speak English. It's really tough. The afternoon classes are taught by two Hermanas and honestly I don't really know their names. But they are really awesome and I love class with them. The lead maestra had a photographic memory and speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. It's crazy! We're already teaching full lessons in Spanish. My companion and I have to script the whole thing though because obviously we don't know enough to teach with it. It was a really long first week and really challenging emotionally and spiritually. But Friday Elder Bednar was here and gave a devotional that was amazing! During his talk he said this. "We make a big deal about 189 temples... stay tuned." I can't wait for general conference! He also taught that we must lose ourselves in the work. That really stuck with me. I love all of you guys! Sorry about the lack of pictures and the short email, we're going to the temple today so I'm short on time. I can't wait to email again and let you know about how another week here in Mexico goes!
